The Rose Valley and the Balkan Mountains form a symbolic central Bulgarian region, linking rose cultivation, mountain passes, monasteries, Thracian heritage and historic towns.
Trips and nature
The Balkan Mountains run across Bulgaria with forests, ridges, passes and valleys. The Rose Valley is softer, fertile and especially atmospheric in late spring.
Food and atmosphere
Kazanlak, Thracian tombs, Shipka Pass, monasteries and rose-oil traditions make the region important for Bulgarian identity and history.
