General information
Valencia, the Costa Blanca and Murcia form Spain’s sunny eastern Mediterranean region, mixing beaches, old towns, rice fields, orchards, modern architecture, dry hills and resort areas.
Trips and nature
The region has sandy beaches, lagoons, salt flats, orange groves, rice fields, dry mountains and warm coastal plains. Albufera is the classic natural escape near Valencia.
Food and atmosphere
Valencia brings Gothic, modernist and futuristic architecture, paella culture and festivals. Alicante, Murcia, Cartagena and inland castles add Mediterranean and Moorish layers.
Transport and stay
Valencia and Alicante have strong rail and air links. A car helps for smaller beaches, inland towns, mountain roads and less touristic corners.
