General information
The Balearic Islands are Spain’s classic Mediterranean island region, offering very different moods: Mallorca’s variety, Menorca’s calm, Ibiza’s nightlife and rural side, and Formentera’s beaches.
Trips and nature
The islands combine turquoise coves, cliffs, pine forests, wetlands, limestone hills and mountain scenery, especially in Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana.
Food and atmosphere
Palma, Ciutadella, Ibiza Town, prehistoric sites, fishing villages and Catalan island culture add depth beyond beach holidays.
Transport and stay
Flights are frequent, ferries connect the islands and mainland, and a car or scooter helps outside main towns. Summer is busy and expensive in the most famous areas.
