Valberg Bike Park

Valberg sits high in the Alpes-Maritimes above the Cians and Var valleys, close enough to the Côte d’Azur for a weekend escape but already clearly in the dry southern Alps. The bike park starts from the Les Éguilles sector and uses a chairlift fitted for bike transport, giving the day a simple rhythm: lift up, marked descent down, village pause, repeat.

The official page lists seven trails for different levels. Beyond the bike park, Valberg also has a wider marked VTT network, so riders can mix lift laps with longer loops such as Tour du Raton, Boucle des 3 lacs and other routes from the Parc des Sports. That combination makes the resort useful for visitors who do not want to spend the whole day in a single lift corridor.

The character is southern Alpine: plenty of sun, open slopes, dust in dry spells and quick weather changes when mountain storms arrive. Beginners benefit from single-ride and four-hour tickets, while stronger riders will usually choose the day pass. Helmets are compulsory and the activity can close depending on weather, so current information matters more than a plan made at home.

Valberg works well as an active day between Nice, Mercantour and the high inland valleys. Public transport exists via bus routes from the coast, but with a bike, a car or a confirmed transport option is easier. Rental shops are located in the resort’s sports stores; if travelling without your own bike, reserve before busy weekends.
