Alpenbikepark Chur: 1,000 vertical metres above Switzerland's oldest city

Alpenbikepark Chur is where a city break and gravity riding meet without much logistics. You can arrive by train in historic Chur in the morning, reach the Brambrüesch lift quickly and spend the day dropping height on trails the official Bike Kingdom describes as 1,000 vertical metres of freeride action.

The park has five trails in three difficulty levels. The character is Alpine but not remote: berms, roots, rocks, northshore features, drops and views into the Rhine valley can all appear in one run. Its low altitude helps the season run longer than at high resorts, but lift operation and maintenance still need checking.

Chur works for riders who want an intense day without staying inside a resort bubble. City services are below, local bike shops handle rental and service, and the riding itself is direct: choose your level, read the trail and do not speed up before you know the features.
