General information
Graubünden, Engadin and the South-Eastern Alps are Switzerland’s largest and most culturally varied mountain region, with high valleys, luxury resorts, quiet villages, scenic railways and Romansh culture.
Trips and nature
The Engadin offers lakes, dry climate and wide views, while the Swiss National Park protects Alpine nature. Bernina and surrounding areas add glaciers and passes.
Food and atmosphere
The region is special for Romansh language, old mountain villages, spa traditions and famous winter resorts. Food includes capuns, pizzoccheri, dried meat, cheese, Nusstorte, polenta and local wine.
Transport and stay
The region is excellent by train, especially with the Rhaetian Railway and Bernina Express. A car helps in some valleys, but rail travel is often part of the experience.
