General information
Tyrol and Innsbruck are the alpine heart of Austria, with dramatic valleys, high mountains, ski resorts, mountain huts, cable cars and a very strong regional identity.
Trips and nature
The region is built around the Alps: glaciers, high passes, deep valleys, meadows, forests and ridges. Summer hiking and winter skiing are the main seasonal poles.
Food and atmosphere
Innsbruck combines imperial history with mountain-city life, while villages and valleys preserve Tyrolean architecture, festivals, food and outdoor traditions.
Transport and stay
Innsbruck is easy by train and air. Public transport reaches many valleys, but a car helps for side valleys, trailheads and multi-stop routes.
