General information
Bornholm is Denmark’s Baltic island with a distinct rhythm: beaches, cliffs, fishing villages, round churches, smokehouses, crafts and a holiday atmosphere.
Trips and nature
The island has more dramatic nature than much of Denmark, with granite cliffs, forests, sandy beaches and coastal trails. Summer is the main season, but spring and autumn are good for cycling and walking.
Food and atmosphere
Bornholm is known for round churches, smoked fish, ceramics, small harbours and a strong island identity. Food includes smoked herring, fish, ice cream, local beer and island produce.
Transport and stay
Bornholm is reached by ferry or flight. A bike or car is useful for exploring the island, though distances are friendly and manageable.
