General information
The Slovenian Coast and Istria are small but packed with Adriatic character, Venetian towns, seafood, salt pans, marinas and easy links to Italy and Croatia.
Trips and nature
The coast is short, with rocky beaches, sea cliffs, salt pans, olive groves and compact seaside views. Strunjan is one of the best natural coastal areas.
Food and atmosphere
Piran is the star, with Venetian architecture and a beautiful compact old town. Koper and Izola add port history and everyday coastal life.
Transport and stay
Distances are short, but summer traffic and parking can be annoying. Buses connect the main towns, and cycling works well along parts of the coast.
