General information

The Tatras, Podhale and the southern mountains are Poland’s classic mountain region, combining high peaks, ski resorts, hiking, folklore, wooden houses and thermal pools.

Trips and nature

The Tatras are the highest and most dramatic mountains in Poland, with ridges, lakes, valleys and busy trails. Pieniny and Beskids add softer mountain landscapes.

Food and atmosphere

Zakopane and Podhale are known for highland architecture, music, cheese, crafts and a strong regional identity.

Transport and stay

Zakopane is reachable by bus and train, but roads can be busy. A car helps for wider mountain areas, though parking near popular trails can be painful.
