General information
Normandy and Northern France combine dramatic Channel coast, medieval towns, war memory, Gothic architecture, ports, countryside, cider culture and easy access from Paris, Belgium and Britain.
Trips and nature
The region has chalk cliffs, sandy beaches, bocage countryside, river valleys, marshes and wide northern skies. Étretat and Mont-Saint-Michel are the classic scenic icons.
Food and atmosphere
Rouen, Bayeux, Caen, Lille, D-Day beaches, Gothic cathedrals, Flemish influences and Norman abbeys make this one of France’s strongest historical regions.
Transport and stay
Main cities are reachable by train, but a car helps for D-Day sites, small coastal villages, abbeys and countryside routes.
