Métabief sits in Haut-Doubs on the edge of the French Jura, where the views feel wider and the forests quieter than in the big Alpine resorts. The bike park is built around the Morond chairlift, so the day is easy to structure: ride up above the village, choose the difficulty and drop back through meadows, spruce forest and more technical sections with Alpine views.

The area works especially well for riders who want to progress step by step. The green Bike All is long and approachable, the blue Atlas and Cordillère add berms and flowing speed, while the red Caucase and Dolomite need a more precise line. The black Himalaya, Rocheuse and Elbrouz are shorter but notably technical; the expert Chill trail deserves a slow inspection lap first.

Métabief is not only a downhill venue. The official offer combines 25 km of DH/enduro trails with 56 km of waymarked cross-country loops and an e-bike climb to Morond, so it is easy to mix lift laps with a longer ridge ride. Jura Kid Park and the MCF school make the place useful for families or newcomers who do not want to start straight on the main trails.

Arrive early in holiday periods and during dry spells. A helmet is mandatory, and gloves plus pads are sensible even on intermediate lines; the surface can be fast, rocky and slippery after rain. The best day here is for riders who want lift access and a proper trail map without the crowded feel of the largest Alpine parks.
