Hemsedal Bike Park

Hemsedal feels smaller and more mountainous than Trysil, and that is its charm. The bike park sits above the Hallingdal valley, with open slopes, forest and Scandinavian mountain scenery giving each run the feel of a trip. It is not a place for chasing dozens of tracks, but for a focused day with a lift, long flow and clear steps in difficulty.

The official description highlights Silverstone, a 10.5 km blue flow trail that is the main reason many riders come. It is joined by green Broadway, blue High Line and red Sentrumsstien, with a longer descent, rollers, berms and natural features. Tottelia near Fyri Resort adds shorter green, blue and red flow lines with a more playground-like character.

On a first visit, do not underestimate the length of the descents. Silverstone is not a black trail, but ten kilometres of flow turns and bike handling can tire you more than expected. Warm up on easier lines, take one long run, then add red options only if your hands, brakes and the weather still feel good. Resort rental helps if you do not have a suitable full-suspension bike.

Hemsedal is best for riders who want lift convenience with a real Norwegian mountain feel. Weather, wind and changing surface matter more here than on urban trails, so ride with margin and adjust tyre pressure and pace after the first run. Helmets are mandatory in all cycling areas and pads are sensible, especially for Silverstone and Sentrumsstien.
