Bikepark Wurbauerkogel

Bikepark Wurbauerkogel sits just above Windischgarsten and mixes mountain biking with a classic local excursion hill. The official page lists four trails: Blue Lollipop, Big Red, Red Root-Carpet and Black Widow, plus a pumptrack at the lower station and a bike centre with rental services.

The current status matters more than usual here. Official information for 2026 says lift operation on the Wurbauerkogel is paused, and as a result the bikepark is not maintained or supervised. Riding is not listed as forbidden, but it is explicitly at the rider’s own responsibility.

If you still go, treat the visit as a cautious technical outing rather than a normal lift-served day. Blue Lollipop is the smoother entry, the red trails add features such as wallrides and tables, and Black Widow is described as a downhill line with roots, rocks and sizeable drops.

Access is convenient because the hill is close to the village. The official access page places Windischgarsten station about 900 metres away, while parking by the lower station is limited, especially for buses.
