Why ride here
Bikepark Špičák is a Šumava classic near Železná Ruda. It is not a tiny pumptrack for half an hour, but a real lift-served bike park with roots, stones, jumps, bridges and trails that can be seriously technical.
The best-known trail is Struggle, a downhill track that has hosted Czech and European cup racing. The park also has Black Friday, Good Year Family Line, Air-Stone, Jump Park, Airbag and Skill Center.
Who it suits
Beginners should start in the Skill Center and on Good Year Family Line. It is still proper mountain-bike terrain, but it is the sensible place to get used to the bike park.
Advanced riders will enjoy Black Friday, Struggle and Air-Stone. These trails bring rocks, drops, technical sections, bridges and speed. A full-suspension bike, full-face helmet, gloves, back protector and knee pads make a lot of sense.
How it works
The bike park follows the summer chairlift operation. In 2026 it runs on weekends and holidays in May, daily from mid-June to mid-September and again mostly on weekends and holidays in autumn.
Bikes are transported on the lift free of charge, but bike park tickets use a chip card with a refundable deposit. Check current operation before travelling, especially in bad mountain weather.
Bike pass, rental and service
An adult day bike pass costs CZK 960 and a 3-hour pass costs CZK 740. Youth and children have lower prices. Point tickets are also available.
The rental shop offers mountain bikes, bike park bikes, e-bikes and full bike park sets. The full set includes a downhill bike, full-face helmet, gloves and knee, elbow and back protection. Bike service is available during bike park operation.
Getting there
By car, head to Špičák na Šumavě 182 near Železná Ruda. Parking differs by car park. By public transport, the train is very practical: Špičák stop is about 300 m from the lower lift station.
Watch out
Špičák is technical. Ride the first lap slowly and read the surface, roots, rocks and braking points. Do not start with Struggle or Air-Stone just because your gloves are new. After rain, the technical sections become much harder.
